Today’s global environment is never static, it is constantly moving and companies have to manage through theses changes if they want to survive. This constant change is also true for a Lean Enterprise. Once we start to put the tools and techniques in place, we have to constantly manage to the new processes, or we will not be able to sustain the improvements during changing times. Significant to Lean Enterprise Management is having key metrics in place at the cell or department level so the team knows if they are winning or losing on a daily basis. If the team won today…. great, celebrate!! If they did not win today, then we need to ask why? Once we know why, we can document the reason and look for trends over time. Since no organization has unlimited resources, we Pareto the reasons so we can see the big hitters. We then can fix the top issues to ensure they never happen again, so we can sustain and continuously improve our performance.
